I've been asked a lot of questions about writing since I published my first book last year. I plan to help out other people to reach their dreams whether it's through writing or other passions.
One main thing I've realized is -- writing should be a passion and not a way to make quick money. Why? Because it will help you through moments when you doubt yourself and if you are doing the right thing.
Second thing is to remember to have fun. This is an exciting time. It doesn't matter if you've decided to pursue a goal of creating a book, finally completed the book, decided to write short stories or blogs, or published your seventh book. You need to understand your accomplishment and be happy about it. If not, then you have missed the whole point of the process.
Third thing I've learned is to stop worrying. Why? Because it stops you from completing steps one and two. When you worry, angst, second guess, or control the situation, then you have stopped having a passion for what you're doing and stopped having fun. You will be amazed by what happens when you let go of worrying.
